Licencias de música en Arabia Saudí

Saudi Arabia's music licensing landscape looks different from most: there isn't yet an established network of collecting societies like you'll find in Europe or Latin America. Instead, copyright is overseen by a government body, the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP).

SAIP is responsible for guiding, protecting, managing and enforcing intellectual property rights across the Kingdom, music included. The Ministry of Culture's Music Commission also plays a role, with licensing named as one of its five strategic pillars for developing the country's music sector.

This is a fast-moving picture. A new Saudi copyright law has introduced a statutory framework for collective management organizations for the first time, along with a dedicated regime for the rights of performers, producers and broadcasters. The operational detail sits in an implementing regulation still to come from SAIP, and no collecting society is yet up and running. It's worth checking directly with SAIP for the latest guidance rather than assuming a particular license applies to your business.
