Music licensing in Lithuania

Streaming music in your business isn't the same as listening to music at home. When you play music for an audience with a business and commercial purpose, you need different licenses.
Play it right
Soundtrack is built to bring you music that’s legal for your business. In Lithuania, almost everything you need is included in your Soundtrack plan except for a public performance license.
Recording rights
Allows you to stream a specific sound recording of a song
Publishing rights
Allows you to stream the original composition
Change the way you play
Soundtrack offers an excellent selection of music because of our direct relationships with publishers, performing rights organizations and record labels. These include Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and more. Our technology accurately tracks your song plays, which ensures that music creators get the right payments from us. Soundtrack Unlimited makes royalty payments about 5 times higher than streaming services for private use.

Music licensing in Lithuania
Playing music in a Lithuanian business means getting licenses from two collecting societies: LATGA and AGATA. Each protects a different group of rights holders and bills separately.
LATGA was established in 1990 by the country's creative unions and individual authors, just a couple of months after Lithuania regained its independence. It represents authors across music, literature, drama and visual arts, collecting license fees for public performances and distributing the resulting royalties to its members.
AGATA (Lithuanian Neighbouring Rights Association) represents performers and producers instead of songwriters. Established in 1999, it's the only organization in Lithuania handling performers' and producers' rights, and since 2006 it's also run an intellectual property education program, with seminars, contests and camps to raise awareness among young musicians.
Since LATGA and AGATA protect different rights, Lithuanian businesses need to apply for licenses from both separately. Reach out to each society directly to confirm what your business needs.
